Company Director

So how did I get to where I am today…

I am Kat the face behind Katherine Jane PPA. I have always worked in front of house positions in the Tourist Industry. I was running a local pub by 21, a job that I enjoyed especially the social aspect of meeting new people all the time. However, the hours where long and tiring so when an opportunity came up to be a Duty Manager of a Leisure Centre I jumped at the chance. Whilst working full time I trained as a women’s hairdresser…mainly because my dad always said I should get a trade. So, at 23 I signed up to an evening course, in my mind you can travel anywhere in the world with scissors and a comb. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at college and still to this day cut family and friends hair. When I am not working you will find me visiting new places, I certainly have the travel bug!

At 27 I decided I had climbed the ladder as far as I could in the Leisure Centre and signed up to do a Foundation Degree in Events Management. One of my main reasons for leaving a full-time job to study was that I wanted to have more time with my dad who I was also caring for. I thoroughly enjoyed studying for my degree and getting to spend precious time with my family. I wish I had felt the passion of educating myself and furthering my knowledge when I was at school and college. I have since completed a Diploma in Digital Marketing and have a Level 2 in Business Management.

Since graduating I have worked in the Tourist Industry and Education as an Events Organiser and Marketing Assistant.

The country fell into Lockdown in March 2020 and this got me thinking how could I develop a business and grow it from home. I have always supported businesses with their Social Media and Events outside of my day-to-day job. I have a passion for helping people and have been told numerous times how organised I am.

So, after a conversation with a family member, who had been at a networking meeting and had met a Virtual Assistant, she said I should go for it. Fast forward to October and Lockdown 2.0 - I handed in my notice and I am perusing a career I really love and am excited to see my business grow.
